Fauna and Flora analyzes and studies carried out by a team of experts with perfect knowledge of the territory are produced regularly on the resort and for each development project.
This approach makes it possible to have a good environmental knowledge of the different sectors and a good relationship with environment & sustainability organisations and governmental agencies.
The company can thus minimize the environmental impact by adapting its projects upstream.
In 2017 the STBMA signed a collaboration contract with the Mountain Galliformes Observatory & ASTER in order to protect the avifauna (birds).
After precise identification of potentially sensitive areas, the STBMA quickly initiated actions aimed at reducing the risk of bird impact by signaling the overhead cables of ski lifts and chairlifts, burying the safety electrical line on the Epaule chairlift project and dismantling the cables from the Catex (used for avalanche prevention).
The next action studied is to prevent human disturbance by demarcating areas on the ground and raising public awareness.
