For the 2020-2021 season, a brand new space has been set up in the Mont d'Arbois sector of Saint-Gervais (le Freddy) for beginner skiers of all ages, facing Mont-Blanc, in a magical landscape. The STBMA, manager of the Saint-Gervais ski area, has made an investment of 1.5 million euros to create this ski learning area at 1850m of altitude with by 2 new ski lifts.
The Mont d'Arbois development project in St Gervais follows a sustainable development logic, by integrating environmental technology and a eco-friendly landscape integration approach: “We freed the summit crest of Mont d'Arbois from an old existing ski lift, we dismantled the pylons and cables and reworked the landscaped side. We have created a beginner's zone, corrected the superelevations and slopes with a lot of earthwork. Revegetation of the soil was done with species and seeds of selected plants typical of local mountain pastures so that farmers can find good grazing conditions for their animals ”.
The Col ski lift has been replaced by a faster ans safer draglift. Its new location has been designed to ensure minimum visual impact on the environment.
This new ski lift can transport up to 900 people per hour.
Discover our covered carpet and its innovative concept. Built into the side of the mountain and covered with a green roof, this device was designed to blend into the landscape and allow visitors, summer and winter, to fully enjoy the panorama of the Mont-Blanc.
